Storing the Food
1) Refrigeration or freezing is not necessary.
2) Keep the food in the bag. Repackaging into Tupperware or plastic bags is not recommended as the food will remain much fresher for a longer period inside our new packaging.
3) When closing the bag, squeeze all the air out then thoroughly seal the bag shut using the zip lock top.
4) If the zip lock gets damaged or will not close properly, roll the top of the bag down and use a "chip clip" to keep closed just as you would a bag of chips. This will still keep the food fresher than repackaging into Tupperware or plastic bags.
5) Use up all food in bag in 4 - 6 weeks. If necessary, purchase smaller bags rather than larger ones so food will remain freshly sealed in packaging.
6) Offer fresh food daily. Observe and smell food for freshness and discard food that is stale or has been in the food cup overnight.
7) Make the bird eat all food offered. Do not allow bird to sort pieces out of the food. This will unbalance the diet. Do not discard dust or crumbs unless soiled or stale. Make the bird finish the entire nugget before replacing "wasted" food.
